Dos ancianos de Taiwán (China) se convirtieron en estrellas de internet tras publicar en su cuenta de Instagram fotografías en las que posan vestidos con la ropa olvidada por los clientes en su lavandería. En menos de un mes, Chang Wan-ji, de 83 años, y su esposa Hsu Sho-er, de 84, lograron obtener casi 600 000 seguidores de todo el mundo.

Este matrimonio lleva varias décadas manejando una lavandería en una pequeña ciudad cerca de Taichung, al oeste de Taiwán. Durante todos esos años, han ido acumulando una gran cantidad de ropa que muchos de sus clientes olvidan recoger.

La idea de convertir a sus abuelos en modelos y crearles una cuenta de Instagram se le ocurrió a su nieto, Reef Chang: “Mis abuelos estaban mirando desconcentradamente las calles porque su negocio no iba bien. Quise encontrar algo con lo que pudieran pasarlo bien”, cuenta Reef.

Y parece que el nieto logró su objetivo: “Hacer de modelo con esta ropa me ha quitado treinta años de encima. Mucha gente me dice ‘ahora eres famoso y pareces más joven'”, cuenta el señor Chang.

La cuenta de la pareja en Instagram es gestionada por su nieto, quien también crea los "looks" para sus abuelos, publica las fotos y responde los comentarios de sus seguidores.

La fama de los ancianos ha hecho que algunos de sus exclientes hayan vuelto a la lavandería para recoger la ropa olvidada, pero también ha atraído a nuevos clientes. Chang Wan-ji y Hsu Sho-er esperan que su popularidad en las redes sociales les ayude a promover el concepto de moda ecológica.
